| Biography Jillian Leo was born and raised in the quaint, lakeside town of Cobourg, Ontario. Growing up with a burgeoning interest in the arts, Jillian took full advantage of the small but vibrant community, participating in various theatre productions, festivals, and performing with the award winning La Jeunesse youth choir and Orchestra. Growing up with musical parents Jillian was exposed to a wide variety of music including Jazz, Blues and Folk from an early age, as well as benefitting from her mothers classical training in guitar. As a teen, influenced by such artists as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Joni Mitchell, and Bessi Smith, Jillian started writing and recording songs with long-time friend and producer Matt Scholey (Machine Fiend), showcasing her vocal abilities while experimenting with different sounds and musical styles. Jillian's music consists of bright, but haunting vocals over sometime spare, sometime richly textured, well-crafted arrangements. Her voice, equally innocent and suggestive, paired and layered with the beautiful instrumentals, creates an ethereal electro folk sound. Now based in Toronto Jillian is working as a baker in an award winning vegan bake shop. Currently Jillian is working on a mix tape of covers that will be accompanied by a series of short YouTube videos. Following the mix tape project, Jillian will be releasing her debut E.P.
